What makes your Exchange rings different?
The Exchange versions are crafted in sterling silver rather than 18K gold or platinum, and each comes in one diamond size and one ring size. There is no engraving or resizing included either, as the ring is made to be exchanged. This is what makes them more affordable. Our forever rings involve a great deal of personalisation, from choosing your metal and diamond to engraving and sizing, and that care and craftsmanship is reflected in their price. Sterling silver is also a softer metal that will show wear over time, so while the Exchange ring is beautiful for the proposal and beyond, it is not designed to last a lifetime the way our gold and platinum rings are.
How does the exchange work?
When you are both ready, get in touch with us and we will guide you through choosing your forever ring together. Once you have decided on your metal, diamond, size, and any engraving, simply return the Exchange ring and its full purchase price will be credited towards your new ring.
Can I exchange it for any of your rings?
You can exchange it for any of our forever rings, not just the same design. If you propose with the Johanna Exchange but fall in love with the Novelia in gold, that's perfectly fine. The full credit applies regardless of which forever ring you choose, even for custom rings.

Is the diamond real?
Yes, every Exchange ring is set with a certified lab-grown diamond. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds. They sparkle the same, test the same, and look the same on the hand. The only difference between an Exchange ring and our forever rings is the band material and the level of personalisation, never the quality of the stone.
What if we want to keep the Exchange ring?
The exchange is an option, not an obligation. Some people love the ring so much that they decide to keep it as it is. It is worth knowing that sterling silver is softer and less durable than gold or platinum and will naturally show wear over time, so it may need a little extra care if worn daily.
Our complimentary lifetime services, including yearly polishing, diamond check-ups, engraving, and resizing, are reserved for our forever rings, which is one of the ways we keep the Exchange Collection at its price point. But the ring is yours, and you are welcome to enjoy it however you like.
Does the Exchange ring come in a proper ring box?
Yes. Every Exchange ring arrives in our iconic wooden ring box, the same one we use for our forever rings. It feels as momentous as the moment itself. When you open it, there is nothing to suggest this is anything other than the ring. No one will know it is an Exchange ring unless you tell them.
How quickly can I get the ring?
Exchange rings usually ship within one working day when in stock. For deliveries to the EU or overseas, shipping times may add a few extra days. If you are working with a tight deadline, get in touch, and we will do everything we can to make sure it arrives in time.
What size do the Exchange rings come in?
Each ring comes in 17.5mm, which is the most popular ring size and a safe bet for most proposals. We also include complimentary sizing wedges with every Exchange ring. These sit inside the band and gently take up extra space, so even if the finger is smaller than 17.5mm, the ring will still feel secure and comfortable on the night.
Why not just buy the real ring straight away?
You absolutely can, and many of our customers do. But choosing an engagement ring involves a lot of decisions, from metal and diamond size to ring size and engraving, and many people prefer to make those choices together. It is also much faster.
