Taylor sets a marquise diamond East–West, laying the pointed oval across the finger rather than along it. Worn sideways, the stone looks longer than it is and breaks the usual upright line of an engagement ring, which is most of its appeal. The setting stays minimal, a few fine prongs and little else, so the shape is left to do the talking. It is an unconventional choice, and a knowing one.
